Working alongside school leaders we help to identify where gaps in achievements may exist within the school and, perhaps more importantly, what has caused these to exist and how this knowledge can provide the 'bridges' to close the performance gaps.

Covid 19 has had a profound effect on schools, children and communities. Whilst much has rightly been said about the heritage issues for children and their 'gaps' in learning and the need for 'recovery' and 'catch up' programmes at Firewolf Learning we have focused on the longer term 'legacy' issues that are emerging for children.
The Lost Learning.
These are issues to do with attitudes and aptitudes to learning - characteristics such as resilience, determination, perseverance and confidence. We have worked in collaboration with the Dorset based Dragonfire Outdoor Learning to help develop outdoor learning activities to enable teachers to deliver a 're-aligned' curriculum as well as support already established 'forest schools' begin to address these longer term issues.

The term 'leadership capacity' is much used - but the reality is often under developed. Woking with Senior Leaders an understanding of what constitutes a 'dispersed leadership' is deepened and practical support provided to see leaders and teams move from being 'directed' through to being an empowered distributed leadership that has the capacity to make a consistent and sustainable difference.

This programme provides practical support, as well as essential knowledge, for all undertaking professional appraisals and performance management reviews. We also provide full and independent support for all aspects of the Headteachers Performance Management process including review, objective and indicator setting, action planning, full process documentation and mid year reviews.

Providing honest and helpful feedback to professionals is an aspect of leadership that even experienced inspectors and advisers find difficult. We offer practical and insightful support in undertaking this essential role.

Long standing unresolved issues that impact on the quality of education and the enjoyment of working in a school are, for many reasons, often ignored. These 'heritage' issues can be difficult to address or even articulate - but become a real restraint to the school, or individuals, taking the next steps in moving forward. We have developed a confidential, positive and effective 'attributive cause' approach to resolving such issues.
